Gender equality and inclusivity

IEECP is a non-for-profit, independent research institute working since 2015 on science-based climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy policy. We do so with an international interdisciplinary team of experts generating and disseminating scientific knowledge. We work closely with EU institutions, international organisations, national, regional and local governments, thinktanks, NGOs, academia, and the business world to lead the transition towards climate neutrality and a more sustainable future. We build valued partnerships with renowned organisations from across Europe as we believe collaboration and creating a community helps carry our ideas and results further to shape together a low-emissions and resilient future.

Common values, principles, and corresponding procedures

The common values of IEECP employees and consultants are competence, reliability, confidentiality, motivation, integrity, and independence. Our corporate culture, based on respect and tolerance, reflects openness and appreciation. Each employee/consultant brings individual experience and qualifications to the team. Within IEECP, but also when working with clients and partners, we are aware of the need to maintain responsibility for quality and loyalty, an unbiased approach, efficiency, and open, inclusive communication.

The IEECP Board of Directors and team are committed to apply an inclusive, gender-balanced, and non-binary approach to all activities. In line with the European Union’s (EU) guidelines and objectives, all employees recognise the importance of advancing gender analysis and sex-disaggregated data collection in the development of scientific research, and believe in equal opportunities, fair treatment, and non-discrimination.

In 2023, we created a taskforce to work on these issues and onboard the whole team, through a first version of our Gender Equality Plan preparation, a survey, trainings, the release of a Manifesto during Pride Month, and now, in 2024, the update of the plan.

If you feel that any approach to our work is biased or could be improved to be more inclusive, you can write to inclusivity (a) ieecp.org. We are always trying to improve and eager to learn how to.
