IEECP’s Vlasis Oikonomou and NTUA’s Haris Doukas co-author a piece, published on Euractiv, touching upon the reaction of 10 Member States for the green taxonomy to allow them to consider natural gas as a transition fuel. This opens up the discussion on the subsidies for natural gas (and other fossil fuels) under the umbrella of ambitious energy and climate policies in these countries and in the EU in general.

The authors conclude that to safeguard climate targets integrity against greenwashing measures, transparent rules should be in place in the EU.
