Kartik is an energy and climate policy expert with over seven years of experience in applied research, EU energy policy analysis, and the decarbonisation of industry and businesses. He works within IEECP’s Industry, Business & Finance team, contributing to projects that advance energy efficiency, support the clean energy transition, and strengthen evidence-based policymaking across Europe. 

Before joining IEECP, Kartik served for five and half years as an Energy Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA, OECD), where he worked on high-impact analytical and policy initiatives, delivering technical insights for Asia and EU decision-making and supporting international collaboration. He has a strong track record of translating complex technical and policy analysis into accessible, actionable outputs for governments, industry stakeholders, and non-academic audiences. 

Kartik’s expertise spans industrial decarbonisation, energy efficiency, EU climate and energy policy, methodology development, and stakeholder engagement. He has contributed to and coordinated EU-funded and international research projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across sectors and regions. 

He holds an Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Project Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy, jointly awarded by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and IMT Atlantique, a Master’s in International Business from Grenoble Ecole de Management, and a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.
