IEECP is a non-for-profit, independent research foundation working since 2015 on several European-funded projects in the fields of energy efficiency, climate policy, climate adaptation and resilience, energy poverty, and financing in the framework of cities, regions, and countries.

🗺️Where? We work from home, across Europe (and that doesn’t prevent us from being a great supportive team!). Ideally, you are based in a country where IEECP has employees already: Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, or The Netherlands

(Junior) Climate Adaptation expert  

In view of expanding the activities focused on climate adaptation and resilience, we are searching for a motivated young professional working in the field, especially in European local and regional climate adaptation plans and resilience strategies, with at least 3 years of professional experience in project-related activities.   

Key responsibilities:  

The expert will be responsible for various research and innovation projects from IEECP’s project portfolio with the following main activities:  

  • Project implementation, and reporting   
  • Acquisition for new calls under Horizon Europe, LIFE CET and other funding schemes in the field of climate adaptation and resilience.   

The work will be divided across projects mainly focused on policymaking for climate adaptation and resilience at local/regional levels as well as national and European levels, covering stakeholder engagement activities, policy analysis and research related to climate adaptation and resilience. Depending on the IEECP project portfolio, new missions could be added.  

Profile:  

  • You are based in Europe (preferably in Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, or The Netherlands) and available to travel within Europe.
  • Languages needed: English (fluent)  
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar functions and role  
  • Expertise in climate adaptation and resilience strategies and plans, mainly at local/regional levels (national level is a plus)  
  • Knowledge about the EU policy and research framework on adaptation and resilience (such as the Mission Adaptation to Climate Change and the European Green Deal)  
  • Knowledge about the UNFCCC, and the Paris Agreement 
  • Previous experience working on or managing EU-funded projects  
  • Expertise in energy policy at the EU level is a plus but not formally required

Junior Expert – Energy efficiency in commercial and industrial sectors

In view of expanding these activities, we are searching for a motivated professional working in these fields, especially in industrial and commercial sectors, with at least 2 years of professional experience.

Key responsibilities: 

The expert will be responsible for various research and innovation projects from IEECP’s project portfolio with the following main activities: 

  • Project implementation and reporting, depending on the defined project tasks, including both expert and supportive tasks
  • Participating in the acquisition for new calls under Horizon Europe, LIFE CET and other funding schemes.  

The work will be divided across projects mainly in industrial capacity building facilitation, knowledge exchange with and between companies, business models and audits’ recommendations implementation support as well as quantitative analysis and working with industry networks throughout Europe. Depending on IEECP project portfolio, new missions will be added. 

Profile: 

  • You are based in Europe (preferably in Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, or The Netherlands) and available to travel withing Europe.
    • Background in energy engineering, economics or business 
  • Availability for travelling at EU levels 
  • Languages needed: English (fluent) 
  • Minimum 2 year-experience in similar functions and role 
  • Familiarity with relevant policies and procedures (energy auditing, standards, energy efficiency finances- instruments and mechanisms, EU legislative framework for energy in industry, EU ETS, Taxonomy regulation etc,)
  • Previous experience working on EU-funded projects and knowledge on the procedures
  • Strong writing skills are a plus

(Junior) Communication expert

The communications expert we are looking for is a versatile communications generalist whose duties include writing, editing a range of materials, organising and promoting IEECP and project events, assisting in the creation of (info)graphics, social media, and more.

Responsibilities

The (Junior) communication expert will support the team on various research and innovation projects from IEECP’s project portfolio, under the guidance and reporting to the head of communications and other communication experts, with the following main activities:  

  • Disseminate IEECP, its projects and initiatives through appropriate communication channels: enews, blogs/articles, press releases, social media, websites, events, communication material design, preparing and layouting briefings, preparing strategies, writing articles or blogs, and more).
  • Participate to the preparation of project proposals.
  • Digital communication and “print” (design of banners, posters, graphics, etc.).  
  • Track and report on IEECP media coverage, events participation and digital statistics.
  • Be a force of proposal for any other communication activity.

The work will be divided across various energy and climate projects. Depending on the applicant profile, new missions could be added (independently managing projects).  

Qualifications and profile

  • Ideally you have a diploma in communications or sustainability (we will value motivation and demonstrated skills rather than a specific diploma).
  • Knowledge / first experience in energy, climate, and related policy issues.
  • Previous experience working on EU-funded projects is an asset.
  • Strong writing, editing and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social media, media, and web management/online content management tools such as WordPress.
  • Graphic design skills / eye for detail (We mostly use Canva), video.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to perform self-directed work and teamwork, work on multiple projects, and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • You are based in Europe (preferably in Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, or The Netherlands) and available to travel within Europe.
