The traditional group photo in front of the old Athens Acropolis is more than a picture for the ENERGATE consortium – this project is all about bringing everyone together, after all.

For the next three years, ENERGATE partners will be working on an energy efficiency marketplace where funding is a two-way road: on the one hand, projects can find innovative financing instruments for Energy Efficiency interventions in buildings; on the other hand, sustainable finance entities can support their decisions on accurate and relevant information about projects and their ambitions. In the end, the consortium expects to contribute to an acceleration of the renovation rate in buildings by overcoming one of the biggest barriers: funding.

Among the 13 partners that make up the consortium, this project counts with researchers, industry experts, and finance experts. Together, they will bridge different sectors and ensure that the new marketplace meets the needs of all stakeholders.

More than presenting projects in need of funding, the ENERGATE platform will provide financiers with packages of relevant information, such as quantification of non-energy benefits and the use of additional services. Complementary features, like automated prechecks of feasibility and evidence-based feedback to financiers based on real life building EE investments, will make the platform even more useful and intuitive for private sustainable investment managers.

The ENERGATE project is co-funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or CINEA. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.
