Welcome to Energy and Climate Academy, the official webinar hub for IEECP!
Through our Energy and Climate Academy, IEECP has launched a new series of topic-based webinars under the ODYSSEE-MURE project. This series builds on the success of the previous Energy Efficiency Academy webinars and continues the commitment to knowledge sharing and capacity building across Europe.
The upcoming sessions focus on key themes related to the Articles of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), including the public sector, sufficiency, energy poverty, and energy efficiency trends. Each webinar brings together expert speakers and invited guests to provide practical insights, policy perspectives, and data-driven discussions to support decision-making at different governance levels.
Energy poverty: Strategies to reach out to energy challenged consumers – The case of Portugal
The webinar explores how energy poverty is being addressed at EU and national levels. We further showcases the data available in the ODYSSEE and MURE databases about indicators and policy measures relevant to energy poverty, provides an overview of the EU policy framework and the role of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) in supporting local authorities through data tools, capacity building and policy guidance, outlines Portugal’s approach to energy poverty, including its long-term plan, action measures and evaluation mechanisms, and presents the LIFE project SaveEnergy Together and its Braga pilot.
Energy efficiency trends in industry in the EU
This webinar reviews recent changes in the industrial sector, focusing on how high energy prices since 2022 have affected energy consumption. It specifically examins the role of energy savings and other factors in the sharp reduction of energy use in this sector.
The Energy Efficiency Academy 2025–2027 Opening Session: Where are we heading with energy efficiency policies in the coming years?
This opening session explores the evolving EU energy efficiency landscape following the 2023 revision of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), which introduced the Energy Efficiency First Principle (Article 3) and strengthened 2030 targets (Article 4), with 2040 ambitions now under discussion.
Amid new debates on the Clean Industrial Deal and simplified monitoring frameworks, ODYSSEE-MURE launchs the renewed Energy Efficiency Academy to provide timely, evidence-based insights for policymakers and stakeholders.
