Discussing with Ana Rita Soares from Bureau Veritas, who is working on the qualified network of professionals in the HORIS OSSs
How did you approach the work done by Bureau Veritas on the qualified network of professionals for the HORIS renovation platforms? How did you collaborate on the quality assessment of professionals with INEGI?
Bureau Veritas developed checklists for the quality assessment of professionals in collaboration with consumer organizations and Inegi. The goal is to ensure consumers have access to a trusted pool of qualified professionals for their home improvement needs.
The key focus is on developing a comprehensive quality assessment framework and providing training to ensure consumers have access to qualified and capable home improvement professionals.
How did you handle the development of the checklists, any lesson learned to share?
The development of the checklists was focused on gathering key information, including national legislation, national-scale policies, and requirements, for Portugal, Spain and Italy, to select partners that will be integrated on the one-stop-shop platform, that meet the ideal conditions for a quality service and guarantee the entire process from start to end.

The goal was to create checklists that could be used to select the right partners to be integrated into the one-stop-shop platform. These partners would need to meet the ideal conditions to provide quality services and ensure the entire renovation process from start to finish.
Lessons learned during the checklist development process:
- Importance of understanding the national regulatory frameworks across multiple countries to create comprehensive assessment criteria.
- Need to balance national requirements with common quality standards that can be applied across the participating countries.
- Iterative development and testing of the checklists was necessary to refine them and ensure they effectively evaluate the capabilities of potential service providers.

Tell us more about the training modules prepared by Bureau Veritas?
The project partner Bureau Veritas provides free e-learning training (Bureau Veritas e-learning platform), targeted to each type of intervention, including content to comply with applicable legal and technical requirements.
Our goal is to empower participants through a practical and interactive approach, where participants will have the opportunity to apply the concepts learned directly in a professional context.
The only requirement is for companies to have been integrated in one of the three OSSs.
