In a world where access to clear, relevant information is key, RENOVERTY believes knowledge should have no language barriers. That’s why the EU LIFE project translated these essential resources into 7 new languages.

This linguistic expansion will allow an even wider audience, including stakeholders, industry professionals, and citizens, to access in-depth data and analysis on the challenges and opportunities related to energy poverty and energy efficiency, particularly in rural zones.

Based on a previous report following a multi-step approach with the objective of upgrading the framework on rural and peri-urban energy poverty, the factsheets offer a detailed overview of policies, initiatives, and best practices for addressing the following:

  • Factsheet n°1: Desk-Research Findings provides a comprehensive review of existing knowledge and practices in energy poverty research and policy, identifying key characteristics that contribute to energy poverty in rural areas, such as inefficient housing stock and limited energy choices. It also highlights barriers to designing and implementing energy efficiency policies, including financial, awareness, and geographic hurdles.
  • Factsheet n°2: Stakeholder Survey Findings shares insights from an online survey of 130 stakeholders across Europe, detailing existing needs, barriers, and proposed solutions for energy poverty and efficiency in vulnerable rural and peri-urban areas. It ranks key drivers of rural energy poverty like poor public transport access and underinvestment, and identifies financial barriers as the most prominent.
  • Factsheet n°3: Regional results offers a deeper dive into the survey findings, distinguishing results across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Southern Eastern Europe (SEE), and Southern Europe (SE) countries. It details regional specificities for energy poverty drivers, views on renewable energy utilization, and the importance of various policy levels in addressing energy poverty.
