EU-MORE – EUropean MOtor Renovation – is an EU-LIFE co-funded project aimed at accelerating the replacement of old, inefficient electric motors in industry and the service sector while promoting the benefits of optimizing motor systems. Read below about the forums, events and publications, and save the date for the final event!
Forums
The project invites you to join two online forums provide platforms for dialogue and collaboration, shaping energy efficiency policies across Europe.
Whether you contribute specialised knowledge in the Policy Forum or share diverse perspectives on the Multi-Stakeholder Platform, your input will directly influence strategies for motor replacement and energy efficiency. We encourage you to engage in these discussions. By participating in one or both forums, you’ll help create impactful policies that drive energy savings within the EU industry. Join us in shaping effective energy policies for motor systems.
- Step into the inner circle of policy shapers
By joining the Policy Forum—a dedicated space for members of the EU-MORE project—you participate in important discussions on energy efficiency policies and transformative motor replacement programs. This secure, members-only platform facilitates insight exchange among policymakers, industry leaders, energy auditors, and stakeholders. As we conclude discussions on past motor renovation policies, we’re shifting focus to recommendations for the future. Your insights will influence policy changes at both EU and national levels, driving impactful energy efficiency initiatives. - A platform for all voices in motor replacement
On the Multi-Stakeholder Platform, all are welcome to participate in a dialogue among industry players, motor manufacturers, service providers, end-users, researchers, and academics. Here, we aim to bridge diverse perspectives on critical drivers and barriers to motor replacement, bringing together viewpoints from all corners of the sector. Whether you bring technical expertise, policy insights, or industry know-how, your contributions are essential to capturing a holistic view that will inform policy developments and implementation strategies. With multiple active discussion threads, there is room for every voice and every perspective:
- Is replacing a motor typically more advantageous than rewinding or repairing?
- Should every motor replacement be accompanied by a thorough analysis and optimisation of the entire motor system?
- Would this negate the financial benefits if high-efficiency motors don’t fit within existing production lines and require replacing the entire production line?
- Would motor replacement service through an Energy Service Company (ESCO) address most obstacles?
- Should we enhance the recovery and recycling of end-of-life electric motors to advance towards circular material routes?
- Does the EU motor industry possess the capacity to meet the demand for accelerated motor replacement with high quality and acceptable lead times?
